We are delighted to announce the successful conclusion of our seminar, 'Cultivating Transmedia Storytelling in Animation and Games,' held on 8 September 2026. The event brought together a distinguished panel of professionals from Hong Kong's animation, film, and gaming industries to share their invaluable insights with an enthusiastic audience, including our students.
The seminar provided comprehensive insights from leading professionals across Hong Kong’s animation and game industries on how they strategically nurture creative projects across interconnected media platforms, offering audience a roadmap to transform local concepts into enduring, multi-platform intellectual property.
The event featured a lineup of industry experts:
· Yuen Kin Toe, director of award-winning animated film My Life as McDull, and the latest A Mighty Adventure, a dialogue-free animated tale
· James L.J. Hung, award-winning writer and director of films and TV series
· Jacky Chu, director, producer, visual effects supervisor, and advanced training instructor
· Jeremy Lam, CEO & Co-founder of Pixio Limited and an avid gamer
· Noletta Chiu, Chief Creative Officer of Mind's I Limited
The event concluded with an engaging roundtable session, hosted by Mr. Kaho Yu (Senior Lecturer in the Department of Interactive Media and Programme Director of the Game Design and Animation programme) and Mr. Eddy Hui (Vice-Chairman of the Hong Kong Designers Association), during which all guest speakers convened for a dynamic cross-disciplinary dialogue, tackling key questions and exploring the future of creative storytelling in Hong Kong and beyond.
