We are delighted to share that our department hosted the AI Design Forum 2026, which brought together a group of renowned design and innovation experts, namely Mr. Yannis Paniaras (Senior Principal Design Leader, Microsoft), Mr. Sean Seah (Senior Vice President Strategy, Technology and Innovation, Langham Hospitality Group), Prof. Lin Min (Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Former Samsung UX Director) and Prof. Kenny Chow (Head of the Interactive Media Department, School of Communication, HKBU) at HKBU Wing Lung Bank Building for Business Studies.

The morning session by Mr. Yannis Paniaras offered valuable insights into how designers can evolve and adapt in the era of AI, while the afternoon roundtable discussion brought together the scholars and industry leaders for a deeper exchange on how AI is reshaping design and human-computer interaction. This scholar-industry dialogue was at the heart of the forum, bridging academic research with real-world practice.

We were thrilled to see many freshmen who joined us as part of their first week at HKBU! This was an invaluable opportunity for them to hear directly from industry leaders and academics, gain real-world perspectives on AI and design, and start the semester inspired.
