Ka-ho started his career in feature animation with Shrek 2, followed by roles as senior technical director and development lead for films including Rio, Horton Hears a Who!, and the Ice Age series. In 2011, he returned to Hong Kong to focus on his personal creative interests and began a career in academia. With the support of a teaching development grant at City University of Hong Kong, he launched the VR Story Lab, where students and researchers explore the narrative potential of virtual reality and immersive technology.
Ka-ho’s teaching, research, and artistic practices intersect within expanded animation, immersive media, and generative AI. His personal animations and artworks have been exhibited and screened at various festivals and venues, including the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, interFilm Berlin, SIGGRAPH, Festival du nouveau cinéma, and the ART*VR Festival. Ka-ho has also actively served as a mentor and jury member for organizations and festivals such as the New York Foundation for the Arts (US), IFVA (HK), and Digicon6 Asia.
