Dr. Kelvin Lee’s service-learning project "An Inclusive World of Emotions" shortlisted for the QS Reimagine Education Conference 2025

We are proud to announce that the service-learning project "An Inclusive World of Emotions" under the course Facial Animation led by Dr. Kelvin Lee from the Department of Interactive Media was shortlisted for the QS Reimagine Education Conference 2025.

"An Inclusive World of Emotions" is a service-learning project at Hong Kong Baptist University where HKBU students use innovative AI tools and 3D animation platforms, including MetaHuman and Unreal Engine, to create digital stories based on the emotions of ethnic minority youths. By combining technology, appraisal theory-driven storytelling, and interdisciplinary learning, the project fosters empathy, cultural awareness, and technical skills. Collaborations with the Islamic Kasim Tuet Memorial College and TREATS NGO create authentic learning experiences, while students' works are shared online to promote inclusion and understanding.

The project is now listed on the Innovations Directory 2025 on the QS Reimage Education Website under the category “Nurturing Values and Ethics”.
